The Coronation Chariot, otherwise known as "Gouden Koets / Goulden Coach" contains the controversial painting "Hulde der Koloniën / Tribute to the Colonies,” an imagery of semi-naked people of colour, submitting to the “Dutch Virgin” who represents the Dutch Commonwealth, the beacon of Dutch colonialism.
In this new interpretation, Dhomas elkamprettoz created his response, from the perspective of an Indonesian living in Europe, highlighting the racism and brutality at the hands of Dutch colonial legacy.

Dhomas elkamprettoz is a Jogjakarta-based visual artist currently living in Berlin. He works with mediums such as painting, mural, while also being involved with diverse artistic communities and collectives from which he gained knowledge and experience.
