[NNNFAIR 2021] PEOPLE - Non Native Native Fair

Non Native Native is a cultural platform which looks into the Asian creative landscape in The Netherlands through the lens of the outsiders from within. The platform serves as an alternative point of exchange for critical creative practitioners between the Asian and Dutch cultural landscape with the focus on contemporary visual culture. The initiative was formed in late 2018, and through a series of research and public activities, we aim to combine the contemporary work of Asian creatives with the local diaspora narratives, bringing to the surface a nuanced representation of Asian visibility in popular culture.

BERLIN UNIT ORGANISER

sōydivision is an art and culinary collective consisting of mainly Indonesian artists based in Berlin. They have held collaborative events regularly in Berlin and other European cities such as London, Zurich, Vilnius and Aarhus, merging culinary and artistic expression while providing a safer space and platform to tackle themes that are closely connected to current local and global events.

Un.thai.tled was founded in 2019 by Sarnt Utamachote and Wisanu Phu-artdun. The collective brings together artists and creatives from Thailand or of the Thai diaspora in Germany, who work against invisibility, outside the imposed violent stereotypes and misunderstandings from a lack of dialogue in public discourse in the West. The collective curates cinema and cultural events in which Thailand-related (as well as Asian) stereotypes are viewed critically and political commitment is supported.
